چکیده

The phase crossing statistics and random FM noise are studied for Nakagami-q fading channel model, in the presense of interference. A closed-form joint PDF of phase process and random FM noise is derived. Expression for the level crossing rate of the phase process when crossing arbitrary level of phase, is also obtained. All results are compared with the known results in special case of zero interference amplitude. Moreover it is also considered the special case when Nakagami-q fading channel reduces to Rayleigh fading channel. Several plots are given to show how derived values evolve when an amplitude of interference increases.

On the Phase Crossing Statistics and Random Fm Noise in Generalized Rice Fading Channels

In this paper we consider phase process second order statistics of generalized Rice (Beckmann) multipath fading channel. Closed-form expression for JPDF of phase and random FM noise is derived. Furthermore expressions for the PDF and CDF of random FM noise are obtained. The level-crossing rate of the phase process is then obtained for any phase crossing level. Obtained expressions reduces to kn...

A Unified Approach to BER Analysis of Synchronous Downlink CDMA Systems with Random Signature Sequences in Fading Channels with Known Channel Phase

A detailed analysis of the multiple access interference (MAI) for synchronous downlink CDMA systems is carried out for BPSK signals with random signature sequences in Nakagami-m fading environment with known channel phase. This analysis presents a unified approach as Nakagami-m fading is a general fading distribution that includes the Rayleigh, the one-sided Gaussian, the Nakagami-q, and the Ri...

Level-Crossing Rate and Average Duration of Fades of Deterministic Simulation Models for Nakagami-Hoyt Fading Channels

In this paper, an efficient deterministic simulation model for the Nakagami-Hoyt fading channel model (Q model) is proposed by using the concept of Rice’s sum of sinusoids. Analytical formulas are derived for the amplitude and phase probability density functions (PDF), level-crossing rate (LCR) and average duration of fades (ADF). By using a numerical optimization procedure, we show how the sta...

Exact Error Probability Expressions for Arbitrary Two- Dimensional Signaling with I/Q Unbalances over Nakagami-m Fading Channels

Recently, we provided closed-form expressions involving two-dimensional (2-D) joint Gaussian Q-function for the symbol error rate (SER) and bit error rate (BER) of an arbitrary 2-D signal with I/Q unbalances over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel [1]. In this paper, we extend the expressions to Nakagami-m fading channels. Using Craig’s representation of the 2-D Gaussian Q-function...

Performance of Differential-Phase OFDM Systems over Selective Multipath Fading Channels

This paper investigates the performance of differential-phase Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) over frequency-selective multipath Nakagami-m radio fading channels. A closed form for the average signal to noise/interference ratio in the presence of the selective multipath fading channel and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is derived. The results reveal that the system perfo...
